Biogas


A slight slope makes the mixture move slowly downwards to the end of the tube. The end product is an excellent fertilizer, and odorless. The system produces enough gas for 1-2 households (with 2 pigs of 40 kilos there is just enough for one household)

The women do not need to go far to collect firewood any more, they have now a clean kitchen. A typical household consumes the equivalent of a small tree every month!  Biogas saves many trees. Every year the programs help 100-200 households to install a new system, which costs about 40 Euros (depending on the design, whether the farmer wants a pit in concrete etc.). The return on this investment is done in less than 8 months.

Poultry breeding training


According to the request of women group in hamlet 1, Xa Phien commune, Long My district about poultry breeding training, the Anh Duong center has organized a poultry breeding training for the local women in Mr Tam’s house in hamlet 1, Xa Phien commune on October 4, 2011. Most the local women have raised chickens in their gardens and need to learn knowledge of epidemiologic preventions because the chicken easily get infectious diseases and die after infecting.

Pigs


altThe poor farmers borrow money to raise pigs. With the first loan they raise two pigs, sell one and keep one sow in order to raise new piglets. The second loan will allow taking care of the sow. After harvest, the rice husk is used as food for pigs. The piglets are sold for a high price. Anh Dương gives loans and help with para-veterinary (vaccines). Anh Dương helps 57 families with loans to rise sow.
